Simon has been a cartoonist and caricaturist since he could first grip a pencil. His early targets were teachers and schoolmates, frequently contributing to school and college magazines.
He trained at art school background, where he focused on large-scale oil paintings, however, Simon persisted with his passion for cartoon illustrations and caricatures, even against the advice of his tutors.
Simon acquired skills in magazine and newspaper design while working at various publishing houses. It was during his time at the Australasian Express newspaper that he began supplying cartoons to accompany articles. However, Simon didn’t remain in full-time employment for long. He transitioned to freelance work, offering both graphic design and cartoons, and built an extensive list of clients, including Santander, Pickfords Travel, Rolls-Royce, and many others.
Today, Simon primarily concentrates on creating cartoon illustrations for newspapers and magazines, as well as providing live caricature entertainment for events.
